Preschool
- Funded through a grant from the state Department
of Education, MPF will operate a project which will create an
environment where for all stakeholders will gain the skills and
knowledge necessary to help students succeed.
- The following activities will be implemented
under this project:

- * Establishment of an advisory committee

- * Development of and conducting of training
workshops statewide on:
- * Material development
-
- The partners will work together to ensure
that:
- * all IFSPs meet the compliance standards,
- * family members are welcomed into the school
and encouraged to be involved in their child's program (more
parental involvement),
- * families support and learn from one another,
and
- * students have appropriate programs.

- Outcomes:
- Activities under this project will help the
family to:
- * participate more effectively in the development
of the IFSP (Individual Family Services Plan) and the IEP (Individual
Education Program),
- * effectively and knowledgeably assist youth
in transitioning from the pre-school system to the public school
system,
- * understand the procedural safeguards outlined
in IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act), and
- * understand the connection between the Learning
Results and the regular curriculum and the needs of their children
by developing a parent portfolio.
