The No Child Left Behind Act from A to Z: What Parents Need to Know

This workshop offers a "primer" on the No Child Left Behind Act and how it is changing education. We'll work together to take the mystery out of the law, sift through the jargon, and learn what the new regulations mean for schools and students here in Maine. From student testing to school choice, this workshop covers everything you ever wanted to know about NCLBbut were afraid to ask.

The Five Building Blocks for a Reading Foundation

Reading skills are taught in the classroom, but the foundation is built at home. In this workshop, participants will learn about the National Reading Panel's five areas of reading development. Research-based information and lots of conversation will provide participants with new ideas for creating a home environment, which encourages both skill development and reading for pleasure.

Parent Involvement

Meeting compliance and building meaningful partnerships.

Using Questions to get the Best Education for Your Child
