Parents as Teachers

Parents as Teachers (PAT) is an internationally certified parenting program for any and all first-time parents. PAT's goals are to increase parents' competence and confidence in giving their children the best possible start in life, and to promote a strong parent-child relationship.

PAT is a free program. Parent educators visit families in their homes and empower them to learn about child development and ways to stimulate learning. The educators also screen for potential learning problems. Families can become part of the program either before their baby is born or if their child is under five years old.
