The staff of the Maine Parent Federation provide information and support to parents and others so that they may participate effectively in the Special Education process. While the staff are not attorneys and do not give legal advice, we do offer factual information on education laws and regulations, and provide resources and information regarding parent-school partnerships and other best practices. This support is designed to assist parents in making informed decisions for their children, and to serve as a resource to all members of the IEP team so they may become more knowledgeable and effective partners in the special education process. While the Parent Information Center tries to ensure that all resources and links on the Maine Parent Federation site are up-to-date, we cannot be responsible for the content of other sites, and request that MPF's community members notify us if they find that a link has changed or has been discontinued.
